Unless otherwise stated, I own or control all rights to the music on this website and on streaming services, including the compositions, lyrics, master recordings, artwork, videos, photos and texts. These works are protected by Swedish copyright law and by international agreements such as the Berne Convention, which give protection in most countries around the world.

What you are welcome to do

  • Listen to and share the music through Spotify, YouTube and other official platforms.
  • Share links to this website and to official releases on social media.
  • Use material from the EPK, such as press photos and bio, for editorial coverage of my music, with credit to "Jari Salmikivi".

What requires permission

Any other use requires my prior written permission. This includes, for example:

  • Synchronization in film, TV, advertising, games, online video or podcasts
  • Copying, downloading, remixing, sampling or redistributing the recordings
  • Commercial use of photos, artwork or videos
  • Uploading the music to other platforms or in your own content
  • Using the music, lyrics or recordings to train or prompt AI and machine learning systems

Use without permission is prohibited and may lead to removal requests and legal action.

Public performance

Playing my recorded music in public places such as venues, shops, restaurants, events or radio is generally covered by the licenses that businesses hold with collecting societies, for example STIM and SAMI in Sweden or the equivalent organization in your country. Please make sure such licenses are in place and that played music is reported as required.

How to apply for a sync license

I own both the master recording and the publishing (composition) rights, so one agreement covers everything. This is one-stop licensing, which makes clearance fast.

  1. Choose the song. Browse all songs or use the song matcher on Booking & Sync.
  2. Send a request to jarisalmikivimusic@gmail.com with the subject "Sync request - [song title]" and include:
    • Your name, company and contact details
    • Project title and type (film, TV series, ad, game, online video, podcast, other)
    • Short description of the scene or campaign
    • Song title and the part used (full song or timecodes) and duration
    • Media (cinema, TV, streaming, online, social, in-game, all media)
    • Territory (e.g. Sweden, Nordics, Europe, worldwide)
    • License term (e.g. 1 year, 5 years, perpetual)
    • Planned release date and budget range
  3. Quote. I reply with a price and terms, normally within 2-3 working days.
  4. Agreement. We sign a license agreement based on the template below.
  5. Delivery. After payment you receive high-quality WAV files (and stems where available).
  6. Cue sheet. For broadcast use, submit a cue sheet to your collecting society so performance royalties are reported.

4. GRANT OF RIGHTS
Licensor grants Licensee a non-exclusive right to synchronize the Licensed Work with the Project and to reproduce and distribute the Project in the media and territory below. No other rights are granted.

8. FEE
Licensee pays [amount + currency, excl. VAT] within 30 days of invoice. The license takes effect when payment is received.

9. RESTRICTIONS
Licensee may not edit, remix or alter the Licensed Work beyond editing for length without written approval, use it in political, religious or defamatory contexts, use it to train or prompt AI systems, or sublicense it to third parties.

10. CREDIT

11. PERFORMANCE ROYALTIES
This license does not cover public performance royalties. Licensee shall submit cue sheets to the relevant collecting society (e.g. STIM).

12. WARRANTY
Licensor warrants that Licensor owns the rights granted and that the use will not infringe third-party rights.

13. TERMINATION
If Licensee breaches this agreement and does not remedy it within 14 days of written notice, Licensor may terminate the license.

14. GOVERNING LAW
This agreement is governed by Swedish law. Disputes are settled by Swedish courts, with Stockholm District Court as first instance.
